Thank you for considering The Law Office of Raymond J. Toney. Mr. Toney provides aggressive, effective, and affordable legal services to military personnel and veterans in a wide range of actions involving military law, federal court litigation, and federal court appeals. Mr. Toney is respected for his professionalism, close attention to detail, and zealous advocacy, both written and oral. He was an Army Reserve officer and is graduate of the Faculty of Law, Oxford University, and member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Evidence and Proof. Mr. Toney is a national leader in the complex area of military personnel law. He practices before a range of military tribunals and US District Courts, US Courts of Appeals, and the US Supreme Court. He is not a UCMJ (criminal) lawyer, and does not pretend to be a “jack of all trades.” When considering the services of a military lawyer, you should be careful to distinguish between those who primarily practice UCMJ law and those, such as Mr. Toney, who focus exclusively on military personnel law. Mr. Toney provides careful and aggressive representation for military personnel in broad range of areas such as: Physical Disability Evaluation Boards; Boards for the Correction of Military Records; Administrative Separation Boards; Grade Determination Boards; ROTC and Academy Disenrollment; Delay and Exemption From Involuntary Active Duty; Officer and Enlisted Promotions; Whistleblower Reprisal Actions; IG and Command Investigations; Discrimination; and other matters. Each of these areas is governed by specific and highly detailed laws and regulations with which Mr. Toney is experienced. Mr. Toney also represents active and former military personnel and corporations in a range of federal court actions, particularly the review of military correction board decisions. His federal court experience includes emergency actions involving habeas corpus, the lawfulness of debts claimed by the government, officer promotions, Privacy Act violations, constitutional violations, Don't Ask, Don't Tell, unlawful discharges, and delays and withdrawals of general officer promotions. If a military record corrections board has denied your application, you may be able to obtain review of the decision by a federal court. Mr. Toney can assist you in making that determination. Mr. Toney also provides representation for active and former military personnel in the appeal of federal district court decisions to the appropriate U.S. Court of Appeals. Please note that Mr. Toney personally handles every case from beginning to end. Your case will not be managed by a paralegal, legal assistant, or any other person who is not a licensed attorney. This is a reflection of Mr. Toney's commitment to provide the highest quality legal services at very competitive rates. Mr. Toney’s practice is limited to federal administrative law and federal court review of federal agency actions only. He does not give advice concerning state law matters and does not represent individuals or corporations in state law matters. |
